I have the wonderful honor of assisting the Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery in their mission and ministries. I help share the good news of the Sisters and promote their spiritual enrichment programs through the Hospitality Center. Together, we work to promote mission through the Sisters' ministry of sponsorship. The Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery sponsor St. Alexius Medical Center, the University of Mary and Garrison Memorial Hospital. The mission is expressed in these institutions through living out the Benedictine values of prayer, hospitality, respect and community. The goal is to always, "Let all be received as Christ."In collaboration with the Sisters, my role is to creatively encourage women to explore a possible call from God to become a Sister through web development, publications, news media and social media. Through "Come & See" experiences, women can visit Annunciation Monastery and explore religious life in a comfortable environment, interact with these amazing women and get a feel for Benedictine monastic life.As director of development, I produce written and online communications pieces including brochures, newsletters, web site content and manage our database and appeals and media relations to further the ministries of the sisters. Social media is another important aspect of my ministry so we can reach out to potential vocations in an interactive manner and make connections with those who feel God's voice 'tugging' at their hearts.

I was blessed with the opportunity to coordinate internal communications and events in the mission-centered environment at St. Alexius Medical Center, under the sponsorship of the Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery. As internal communications coordinator, I wrote and was the photographer for the quarterly PEACE newsletter and the St. Alexius Annual Report. My responsibilities also included roles in planning the St. Alexius Employee Awards banquet (annually), the annual Bishops Visit to St. Alexius, the "I Made the Hill Road Race," the St. Alexius Epiphany party, open houses and other special events. An avid promoter of mission, it was a wonderful experience serving on the St. Alexius Mission Effectiveness Committee and participating in the new employee orientation where I shared the history of the Sisters of Annunciation Monastery.

At GPRS, I served in positions including secretarial, sales, marketing and became certified as an orthotic fitter. Through this experience, I led a mastectomy education/discussion group and fit women with breast prostheses following mastectomy. Fitting shoes and other orthotic garments and braces. I instructed new mothers on the use of electric breast pumps and became very well-versed on insurance coverage and billing for both orthotics/prosthetics and medical equipment. In my position, I also transcribed dictation for the orthotist and prosthetist at GPRS.
