Both Services were originally part of one Trust but now are separate organisations so I am employed by CAMHS through an SLA with AMHS. Main responsibilities in both posts are to be solely responsible for providing the Art Psychotherapy Service for children and adults with complex mental health needs. As part of this role I carry out comprehensive Assessments, including identifying any risks and safeguarding issues ; collaboratively identifying clear aims for either individual or group art psychotherapy with the client, if appropriate; regularly reviewing the therapy with the client, and family ; writing clear comprehensive assessment, review and discharge reports; liaising with other members of the team and external agencies. I also lead specialist time limited, closed art psychotherapy groups in both Services - one for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, the other a loss and transition group for children and adolescents with complex bereavement presentations including attachment issues/disorders. I have designed leaflets for both groups, and also an outcome measure in the form of questionnaires. I also clinically supervise a nurse therapist, and a therapist in the CAMHS Team, as well as supervising trainee Art Psychotherapists from Sheffield Hallam/ Leeds Met. University. I have been involved in leading training workshops for both teams as well as other organisations, including an annual training day for postgraduate Clinical Psychology students at Hull University.
