I am an educator and historian committed to inclusive and analytical learning in and out of the classroom. I am currently the Chief Historian at the Center for Civil Rights History and Research, working to bring South Carolina's civil rights history to a wider audience.As a former classroom teacher and museum educator, I have an extensive background in education. I am also deeply engaged in historical research and public history, having worked at museums, public history organizations, and educational institutions with a range of priorities. I am an excellent researcher and have a broad background in history, though I focus on African American and Southern history. I am also an efficient program manager, having organized and overseen major events and long-term projects.
