Assisted Water.org in achieving its strategic commitments, aimed at solving the global Water and Sanitation crisis. Provided communication support focused on accelerating action and impact towards the vision of ensuring safe water and the dignity of a toilet for all. Led on various projects to drive awareness, engagement and funding for the organization while providing overall strategic guidance and support to founders, senior management and global partners.

Helped create the strategic vision and roadmap for Africa No Filter, a donor collaborative focused on using research, grant-making and advocacy to shift harmful representations of the African continent. Assisted in identifying partnerships, funding opportunities, private sector alliances and donor platforms to align with growth priorities. Supported the creation of internal administration systems, human resource processes and overall growth projections. Worked with donors including; Ford Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Luminate and Open Society Foundation to advance the mission and collective vision for Africa No Filter.

Served as the Chief Executive Officer of Weber Shandwick Africa, the world’s largest public relations consultancy, generating significant growth year-on-year at an average rate of 35% since opening the regional office in 2011. Managed staff and agencies in 26+ nations across the continent, while aligning strategic direction with operational efficiencies to drive revenue targets and innovative growth models, both domestically and internationally. Regularly advised CEOs and C-suite management on emerging crises, reputational threats, and overall strategic positioning.

Developed and implemented engagement strategies for leading global foundations, public institutions, government ministries and NGO’s such as; UNICEF, African Union, Save The Children, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, Dell Foundation, African Innovation Foundation, Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Dr. Adinwumi Adesina, African Risk Capacity/World Food Program, and AGRA (Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa). Secured top-tier media placements with international outlets CNN, Bloomberg, Reuters, Financial Times, BBC, AP, Al Jazeera, and CNBC. Established a Pan African communications platform for multiple private sector companies across a multitude of industries including; Ericsson, GSMA, Eaton Corporation, Cargill, Abbott, Glaxo Smith Kline, Amazon, Kindle, Celtel (now Airtel), Samsung/African Cup of Nations, Microsoft/4 Afrika, and Eutelsat. Participated in the World Economic Forum for Africa since 2010, coordinating multiple high level engagements with policymakers, civil society, and other stakeholders to ensure a share of voice and presence in pushing forward their specific agendas during the continent’s most prestigious gathering. Clients have included; Cargill, Rockefeller Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Nigerian Minister of Agriculture, African Innovation Foundation, and USADF. Advise the African Union on their ‘Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme’ (CAADP), with a focus on keeping agriculture at the forefront of government budget agendas, position CAADP as a successful advocate and best process for African led investment in agriculture, and increasing the level of commitment from donor countries to Africa’s overall food security priorities.

Developed the first truly Pan-African PR company on the continent, managing a portfolio of 15 public relations offices throughout Africa: South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Congo DRC, Congo Brazzaville, and Madagascar. Managed all affiliate PR activities with South Africa, London, New York, Switzerland, and Germany, specializing in international companies entering the African market and public awareness campaigns for African countries abroad. Instrumental in developing and executing the Pan-African PR/Communication strategy and CSR guideline/implementation document for Zain (previously Celtel), the largest Pan-African mobile phone company, with a presence in 15 African countries. Key clients/accounts while at ZK included: Zain (previously Celtel), Pfizer, Government of Tanzania, Tanzania Tourist Board, Federal Bank of the Middle East, Serengeti Breweries, and Emirates Airline.

Managed and marketed the production of in-depth investment reports specializing in the financial development within third world economies. Prepared and assisted in the publishing of all research material to be analyzed in the world’s leading business media sources and oversaw all project deadlines, budgets, and sales targets according to local market conditions and company targets.
