I joined Traylor & Associates in November 2007 and coordinated the HOME-funded owner-occupied activities with County Judges in Newton, Tyler, Polk, and San Jacinto counties. In addition, I worked with potential homeowners, title companies, appraisers, and construction contractors to complete these projects. In 2009, I began working with CDBG, and FEMA disaster recovery programs, including non-housing grantees in the DETCOG, SETRPC, and Galveston County. I specialized in labor standards, but my other duties included Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) and Section 3 reporting. I also assisted with application preparation and documentation for monitoring the review of grant files.As the Labor Standards Officer, I was responsible for Section 3 reporting and requirements. In addition, I helped prepare CDBG applications, maintained financial and grantee grant files, prepared quarterly reports, worked with project engineering firms, closed out grant files, and prepared files for (HUD) Housing and Urban Development, (TDA) Texas Department of Agriculture, and (GLO) Texas General Land Office grant monitorings. Fortunately, state and federal file reviews never resulted in a finding. I also conducted pre-construction conferences with contractors, performed onsite employee interviews, prepared and submitted grant documents to state agencies on behalf of cities and counties, conducted public hearings, and presented at commissioner courts and city council meetings, in 2018 promoted to Vice President.

I supervised the office’s day-to-day operations, including three office employees, six truck drivers, and three sawmills. In addition, I served as the liaison between contracted CPA and legal services involving payroll, income tax, and business ventures’ legalities.
