I am a driven individual with diverse professional and volunteer experiences in counselling, mental health, research, and youth mentorship. I recently completed a Master of Science in Counselling Studies (2022-2023) at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. My relevant coursework included counselling theory and practice, ethics, and global mental health. I gained practical counselling skills and techniques including person-centred, psychodynamic, and motivational interviewing approaches. I am certified in Counselling and Psychotherapy by COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland).Previously, I earned my BA Honours in Psychology (2016-2021) at MacEwan University in Canada. My well-rounded background includes applied behaviour analysis, counselling, ethics, psychology research methods and statistics, and more. I also attained professional certificates in Mental Health First Aid (2022) and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (2022) to advance my patient-care expertise. My work experiences involve legal assistant, psychiatric aide, city parks maintenance, customer service lead, and server roles. This built skills in administrative tasks, crisis response, public speaking, and supervision. I have further devoted significant time to peer counselling, mental health programs, youth mentoring, coaching, and leading psychology research projects on victimology and legal/ethical issues. I have presented my research at numerous academic conferences.With my passion for helping others and breadth of applicable knowledge, I intend to establish a counselling practice focused on supporting vulnerable groups.
