Contract lead managing a £300million+ contract with a major NHS Teaching Hospital engaged in discussions relating to service development, performance targets (waiting times for treatment - both for planned and emergency treatment), financial delivery etc. Working with a small Team of colleagues, both managerial and clinical, supporting delivery of hospital care for Hampshire residents in line with good national practice.

I worked with a range of NHS and major Independent hospital providers managing all elements of contracts - service, negotiations etc.The role involved working closely with the Technical Team regarding service development / eligibility / funding etc, including review of Cancer services treatment innovation etc, working with Actuarial, Claims and Clinical leads.Close liaison with the Marketing Teams provided a range of interesting opportunities to extend the range of services provided to both individual and corporate customers throughout the country and also involved Overseas opportunities to review potential international acquisitions.

Working with Clinical, Commercial and Sales leads at Divisional Head Office we reviewed opportunities to enhance Customer care and cost containment through close working relationships with clinical service providers. The role involved market testing initiatives for example relating to preferred provider networks / clinical speciality networks (cardiothoracic services) etc for large coporate clients and individuals.

In this role I worked with a range of colleagues in Engineering, Marketing, Sales and R&D.Initially my role involved collaborative work with European colleagues in identifying sales and marketing opportunities predominantly within Europe but also wider afield. When the company acquired an additional manufacturing site I was transferred to this unit with the task of re-establishing communications and strong Customer service with a range of organisations who had historically used the company's services but who had had to look elsewhere for support. During my time in this role our Sales and Service revenues increased enormously - largely due to focus on key basic requirements - like listening to Customers, delivering support at the right time in the right place at the right price and identifying opportunities to link the extensive expertise of colleagues within the organisation with the needs / opportunities from existing and new customers.

I worked in a fantastic team of dedicated health professionals (Physios, Psychologists, Physicians, OTs etc) who worked with children with severe mental and physical disabilities and their families, trying to help the kids extend their communication skills and, for a while, worked with neonates with feeding difficulties. As part of the role I also ran clinics for children in mainstream pre-school and school aged children with language delays or anomalies and for some time worked with colleagues at Northern General Hospital supporting people who had acquired expressive or receptive language difficulties either following a stroke / head injury or degenerative neurological condition.
