Having worked in cosmetic dentistry for more than 20 years, I'm still incredibly excited by what I do. My day-to-day role is primarily ensuring that the Harley Street Smile Clinic keeps its first-class reputation. A reputation it deserves. We not only focus on looking better, but being better. I help our clients by listening and building a relationship. Part of this does involve some straight talking, and I am therefore candid about what we at the Harley Street Smile Clinic can accomplish. Having been instrumental in the award-winning success of the London Smile Clinic and TV's Welbeck Clinic, I am proud of their position as our main competitors.

The Welbeck Clinic initially housed one full-time and one part-time cosmetic dentist. My skills in business transformation turned this into a much larger practice, encompassing three cosmetic dentists all carrying out cosmetic dentistry and a hygienist. Once the dream smile has been achieved, maintenance for patients is minimal, so a steady stream of new clients is the only way for the business to thrive. Glossy advertising is therefore not enough. A robust and strategic marketing campaign was therefore vital to keep three surgeons busy.

Dominican Republic

Taking a year or so out of London life I headed to the Dominican Republic to carry out a building renovation turning a derelict building into a ten apartment boutique resort just off the beach on Cabarete's famous kitesurfing beach. It was a great success and a wonderful working experience with the various hats I had to wear - project manager, marketing, landlord, barmaid, curtain maker. You name it I did it! As amazing as it all was I couldn't wait to come home. I wanted to get back to what I enjoy most. Teeth!

My first foray into setting up cosmetic dentistry practices began in 1999. After overseeing the major overhaul of a derelict building, the result was a stunning, contemporary clinic. Next step: building a website, and producing eye-catching and effective advertising. As the clinic location did not lend itself to passing trade, an innovative marketing campaign ensured the success of this business.
