After serving the City of Mount Vernon as Mayor for 12 years, I transitioned to Project Administrator to oversee the final stretch and manage the construction of the Mount Vernon Library Commons Project, a $53 million showcase of climate resilient design that incorporates multiple civic and environmental elements, and capstone of my tenure as Mayor. I have a deep understanding of the needs and priorities of my community, as well as the challenges and opportunities of the region.I am passionate about city government and the ability to create safe and enjoyable communities through ethical and transparent leadership, strong diplomatic communication, and effective budget preparation. I hold an MBA and an Executive Certificate in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, which have equipped me with the skills and knowledge to lead complex and high-impact projects. I am also committed to lifelong learning and innovation, and I constantly seek new ways to improve the quality and efficiency of public services.
