Initiated and led creation of Family Leadership Circle, a structured program to obtain annually renewable donations ranging from $1,000-$25,000; Achieved 33 family memberships in first year (2011) with current contributions now totaling $500K. Oversaw The Sabra Dalby Rightmire Fund for Melanoma Education & Research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in support of Dr. Paul Chapman’s pioneering research to treat Stage IV melanoma (ongoing). Established and led non-profit organization to educate parents and caregivers of young children about the dangers of UV Radiation: •Raised over $200K in first two years through BeSunSensible FunFair, Silent Auction, and Skin Cancer Screening event. •Partnered with Entertainment Industry Council and SunSafety Coalition to create a national conference for daycare providers on skin cancer prevention. Funded a program at EIC to create a handbook on prevention policies and practices in the childcare setting. •Designed statewide survey for Massachusetts Department of Public Health and Office of Children and Family Services to assess current sun safety behaviors in daycare population. Advised Harvard School of Public Health student in writing sun safety handbook for the DPH. •Member National Council for Skin Cancer Prevention, Skin Cancer Coalition of the American Academy of Dermatology, and Massachusetts Skin Cancer Prevention Collaborative.•Two-time recipient of AAD’s Gold Triangle Award for increasing the public’s understanding of dermatologic concerns.
