Penn State's Dance Marathon (THON) is the largest student run philanthropy in the world. THON is a yearlong effort to raise financial and emotional support for families who are struggling with pediatric cancer and is a 46 hour no sleeping, no sitting dance marathon. The Four Diamonds Fund of Hershey Medical Center has been the sole beneficiary of THON since 1977. Since then, THON has raised over $101 million for the Four Diamonds; and over $12 million last year alone. To find out more go to www.THON.org.Rules and Regulations (R&R) captains head the largest committee of students who want to be involved. The job of R&R is to ensure the safety of THON and all of its volunteers whether they be fundraising or at the dance marathon THON weekend. Specifically, as a Pass Team captain, I work with my co-captains to maintain a safe capacity level on the event floor which fluctuates based on many factors. We also are a face for those coming to experience THON and have questions.
