I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of professional experience, including providing direct care and clinical supervision, administrative and executive level leadership, team leadership and management, program development, international capacity building program experience, and directing training programs. I am the Founder and Executive Director of Urban Yin Psychology, PLLC, a private practice and business in Manhattan. I formerly served as Vice-President, Clinical Training at the Child Mind Institute, where I worked for the last decade prior to starting my business. Clinically, and I am trained in and utilize evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), DBT-C (for children), RO-DBT, mindfulness, and family therapy in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults, with depression, anxiety, and other psychological disorders.I am a member of several professional organizations, including the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), of which I am currently on the Board of Directors and Secretary of the Executive Committee. I am also a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). I have presented at professional conferences, academic medical centers, public and private schools, and community health centers on the topics of adolescent depression and suicide, adolescent self-injury, mindfulness, DBT, and adolescent borderline personality disorder, and co-authored book chapters on some of these important topics. I also work with the media to advance public knowledge and educate about child and adolescent mental health. Personally, I am studying, participating in, and working to expand the integration of Eastern based approaches to mental health treatment, including mindfulness based interventions and meditation. I am a student of Wu Ming Qigong, Medical Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine here in NYC.
