Responded to a constituent complaint that requested a categorical change in discharge permit. Researched and wrote legal memorandums concerning: the CEQA ministerial exemption for small domestic water uses, the application of the Clean Water Act’s sovereign immunity provision to nonpoint source discharges, and the relation between the 4th Amendment and efforts to monitor for discharge permit compliance.

As a 2015-2016 Brumley Fellow, I assisted Professor Joshua Busby in analyzing quantitative and geographic data to investigate the relationships between elephant poaching, national security, and conflict in Sub-Saharan Africa. Additionally, I conducted literary research regarding the relationship between Tanzanian illegal wildlife trading networks, Tanzanian land tenure policies, and the international demand for illegal goods.

As a Teaching Assistant for the Department of Geography and the Environment at The University of Texas at Austin, I taught a variety of classes, including Physical Geography, Human Geography, Field Techniques for Geographers, and Environmental Science. My duties as a graduate TA ranged from designing instructional materials and facilitating experiential learning experiences in a variety of settings, including outdoor field trips, computer laboratories and classroom discussions to preparing and presenting original lecture material tailored to specific course objectives.
