As a new graduate of Centennial College’s Post-Graduate Public Relations and Corporate Communications program, I am incredibly excited to start the next step of my career in the PRCC industry.I have previous educational experience at Queen's University, where I graduated with a Honours Bachelor of Arts program, with a major in psychology and a minor in English literature and language. I worked as the Events Executive for the Queen's Pre-Health Shadowing Society in 2022, helping create networking events for STEM students interested in the medical field. This gave me various experiences setting up events, including pitching, proposing, and following through an event set-up, and working and collaborating with other clubs.I have experience in a Youth Advisory Council, making decisions towards the future of the Agnes Etherington Art Centre. We discussed the concepts and practices of decolonization of museums, and what the future of museums should look like in a modern world. This provided me the experience to research a company while working to change an industry standard in museums, including group work and pitching towards a client.During my time at Centennial College, I gained experience in event logistics and management as I helped run Centennial College’s Story Arts Centre’s Open House in November of 2023. I also acted as the client liaison for a semester-long school project called “Storyworks”, where I and four fellow students created and followed through on a communications campaign. This campaign involved social media, media relations and thought leadership strategies.I am looking to find my place in public relations where I can bring forward my creativity, storytelling, and professionalism to this industry.
