Project Title: Role of Gut Microbiome in Extra-hepatic Metabolism of Antimalarial Drugs• Created and optimised protocols to investigate the effects of gut microbiome activity on a potential antimalarial compound series with in vitro Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) Scientist Dr Ola Epemolu. • Discovered that the low bioavailability of the antimalarial compounds were due to anaerobic enzymatic activity by gut microbiome.• Co-crafted Assay Development and Screening proposals as a DMPK Scientist as part of a Drug Discovery project to virtually screen 8841 compounds on Vortex software against Visceral Leishmaniasis.
