My name is Jillian and I am a board certified music therapist currently working at Avow, a hospice in Naples, Florida. I also serve as one of the main cantors at St. Agnes Church and the Diocese of Venice. In 2020, I received the Heart of Avow award from my organization, a special recognition for the values I exemplify as I service the organization, patients, families, staff and the greater community. I completed my internship at Trustbridge Hospice in West Palm Beach, FL. I have experiences presenting in-services and music therapy demonstrations in a variety of support groups and Assisted Living Communities throughout Collier County. My other clinical experiences include music therapy practicums in medical and surgical intensive care units of a hospital, a geriatric unit of a skilled nursing facility, an autism unit of a high school, and a mental health group at a home for economically disadvantaged adults. Upon completion of my internship experience, I will receive my Bachelor of Music degree from Baldwin Wallace University’s Conservatory of Music. As a student, I was very involved in campus organizations, holding leadership positions such as Vice President of Cleveland Student Music Therapists (CSMT), President of TWLOHA-BW, and Sisterhood and Ritual Chairs of Phi Mu-Delta Iota Chapter. As Vice President of CSMT, I coordinated service projects with BW’s Sprout House, Take a Break at Grace Church, Cogswell Hall and Hanson House. I am passionate about music therapy and the people with whom it services and look forward to future career opportunities within the field.
