Dissertation work examines potential behavioral and neurobiological mechanisms behind increased nicotine use among individuals with schizophrenia using a developmental rodent model of the disease. Alan Sved and Anthony Grace.Served as a mentor to 5-8 undergraduate students working in the Sved lab per year and lead a biweekly seminar to discuss lab data, scientific practice, and relevant literature.Served as a teaching assistant in three undergraduate courses and regularly delivered guest lectures. Initiated and co-developed a graduate-level course in 2018 to increase science communication skills and outreach involvement among graduate students and to better define learning objectives.

Mentored a group of 14 middle school girls in weekly hands-on programming in STEM topics, college/career goals, and character building.
