After graduating from the University of California, Santa Cruz with an academic degree in Sociology and a Minor in Education, I am now ready to pursue a career as an Elementary Teacher. Throughout my college years I was actively involved in my sorority, Gamma Phi Beta, acting as both the Membership Vice President and Education Vice President. I also participated in many intramural activities allowing me to meet a wide range of people during my time in Santa Cruz. I am currently attending University of California, Irvine in order to obtain a Masters in Teaching and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential as well as student teaching in a 4th Grade classroom at Oak View Elementary. I strongly believe that every child deserves an amazing and equal education. I plan on learning a great deal and getting more hands on experience inside the classroom, where hopefully one day I will be able call my own.

Being a staple restaurant on the Central Coast, F.McLintocks is constantly busy and filled with patrons. A calm sense of confidence and urgency is an essential part of my job as a waitress here. As a waitress I am responsible for prepping food and work stations, busing, serving, bar tending, and seating tables. Being part of such an iconic restaurant in San Luis Obipso is a job that comes with a lot of pride and responsibility. I have loved working with many great people, and have loved serving the many local and visiting guests we encounter daily at F. McLintocks.

Youth Soccer And Basketball CoachTempleton Parks And Recreation Aug 2012 - Mar 2013Playing sports has been a passion of mine from a very young age. When presented with the opportunity to coach youth girl's soccer I immediately accepted the offer, combining my love for sports and teaching youth. I had a team of 8 young girls between the ages of 6 and 8. Watching them grow and progress throughout the soccer season elated me. Following the Fall soccer season, I was asked to coach youth co-ed basketball, a sport less familiar to me. Due to the impact my soccer team made on me, I gladly accepted once again. My basketball team was an amazing mix of boys and girls willing to learn the sport of basketball and have a great time doing it. Both the soccer and basketball season's taught me an immense amount of knowledge and continued my quest for teaching youth.

Teacher AidDelaveaga Elementary School Jan 2011 - Apr 2011Santa Cruz, CaI volunteered as a teacher's aid in a First Grade classroom at DeLaveaga Elementary School. This classroom was both ethnically and economically diverse. I completed more than 45 hours in this classroom, which taught me more than I could have ever imagined. Most importantly my time spent volunteering solidified my dream of becoming an elementary school teacher. I am very thankful to the students and my wonderful placement teacher, Maren Presleigh, who was constantly there for guidance and helpful words of advice.
