Senior leader responsible for ancillary and support services in a 240 licensed bed hospital across two campuses. Services include imaging, laboratory, respiratory, rehab, food and nutrition, pharmacy, security, facilities, biomed, environmental health and safety, and environmental services. Responsible for approximately 670 employees.

In cooperation with the Medical Director of Imaging Services, responsible for the management of inpatient and outpatient radiology services and specialty procedures at the Mills-Peninsula acute care hospital, Mills Health Center and off-site clinics. Responsible for the general operations of the department, development of policies and procedures, budgets and standards to ensure quality Radiology and Nuclear Medicine services. Also provide administrative direction for the school of Radiology and the MRI program. Responsible for the development of department goals and objectives that support the hospital pillar goals and strategic planning. Ensures compliance with Sutter initiatives and regulatory agencies.

• Perform service line analyses, including profitability, business planning and market analysis in order to support leadership decision making. Analyses include engaging clinical managers and physicians in business planning and presenting recommendations to Regional Senior Management Team.• Evaluate ROI for capital investments ranging $2.5 million – $350 million. • Developed 10-year financial forecast for three Peninsula Coastal Region affiliates, including assessing the impact of Health Reform and the changing environmental landscape. Proposed various mitigation plans to maintain hospital performance, including the development of pricing strategy to make care more affordable to patients and maintain competitive pricing.• Partner with VPs and department managers to develop budgets, effectively communicating financial terms to managers with non-financial backgrounds, and leading engagement of operations and finance.• Support hospital’s affordability initiatives by working with hospital management to identify operational inefficiencies, and assist in the development, evaluation, and implementation of improvement plans. Project Management• Lead multiple multi-disciplinary teams for planning and implementing infusion pumps, RFID asset tracking and temperature monitoring systems, interactive patient televisions, and Emergin Integration technology that leverages data from patient monitoring, nurse call, and clinical information systems to provide relevant alerts to end users. Team members included Nursing, Nursing Education, Pharmacy, IT, Bio-Med and Engineering.

• Performed financial, program and operational workflow analysis to support the Patient Affordability Team which identified $11.2 million in saving the first year.• Developed new tools to assist managers and directors with performance tracking, including real time tracking of premium pay and training tools to understand budget and labor variances.
