--Care for 300,000+ historical, archival, and scientific artifacts.--Oversee Doc McGregor Photograph Collection of 250,000+ pieces, including digitization and use in publications.--Field researcher requests for use of artifacts, photos, and historical records.--Oversee department level budget and procedures.--Build and maintain a hands-on teaching collection of artifacts.--Write grants to build community support of museum initiatives and educational programs; track and report on programs for final grant reporting and evaluation.--Administer all incoming and outgoing loans of museum objects, including high profile pieces such as the La Belle Shipwreck Collection, in cooperation with the Texas Historical Commission.--Manage interns and volunteers and oversee their projects, including training and mentorship.--Serve as member of the Exhibits Development Team, including curating, writing and producing new exhibitions; work with external exhibit design firms to communicate our vision, budget, and mission.
