My vision is to solve social and environmental challenges in communities large and small. I believe in the potential to improve land quality, human health, and economic situations through well-designed and functional landscapes. I strive to be a pioneer of systems design for urban vegetable and fruit farming, joining a blossoming movement towards innovative local and sustainable food production. I see the opportunity to re-design formerly underused and unhealthy landscapes into healthy areas for human interaction, agricultural production, recreation and enjoyment. I am also interested in bioremediation - the cleaning of contaminated soils through use of plants - and soil improvement through smart gardening practices. Whether designing ornamental gardens or edible landscapes, I am an advocate for regionally-appropriate design - landscapes which match the climate and culture of an area. Ultimately, I enjoy building relationships with people and sharing my passion for landscape design and growing gardens. I am eager to develop new skills and tackle challenges.
