Through training and experience, I am able to authenticate and identify over 20+ luxury brands. In 2020 alone, I authenticated over 13,000 items. These include, but are not limited to, Chanel, Hermès, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Yeezy. I have created and collaborated on multiple internal guides with pointers on how to do so, as well as conducted trainings on these brands. I push myself to learn new things every day about these storied companies and pride myself on the knowledge I possess thanks to my unique position.

I was The RealReal's first Quality Control department member. I reviewed 85+ units each day and made sure the copy that was written in our e-commerce center was concise and accurate. I communicated with copywriters daily and helped them improve. I worked directly with a number of departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency, such as Copywriting, Photography, and Receiving.

As a Low Risk Authenticator for The RealReal, I saw a lot of high value product each day. I mainly authenticated luxury handbags, as well as shoes, accessories and garments. This included research conducted on the item. Such details I attempted to find were MSRP, style name, and collection year. I also priced each item according to its resale value and current trends. The RealReal is a luxury resale company, so everything we received had to be assigned a condition. Determining the state of the item was also my responsibility. I met all goals assigned and processed 80+ items each day.

As a senior receiver, I handled more day-to-day responsibility than I was tasked with as a receiver. I was solely responsible with organizing and distributing product that was personally dropped off by our local sales team. I was more often than not dealing with product from high profile consignors and giving extra care when it came to those items. I was able to approve product that was trending or high value but not specifically named on our designer list. I ensured items accepted and rejected by my colleagues were in the proper channels and was able to fast-track extremely current or unique items.

Receivers at The RealReal are the first to touch luxury product when it arrives at the warehouse. I was required to inspect the condition of the item (whether it was a garment, handbag, or accessory) and decide whether or not it was up to company standards, while keeping the consignor in mind. From there, I was responsible for directing the item to the correct channels to get it onto the website to sell. High value product was sent to the authentication department and rejected items are put on their way back to their consignors. A working knowledge of current trends, designers, and fashion was required for this position. Attention to detail was also key when recognizing what to accept and what to reject. I dealt with a wide range of luxury brands, from Alice + Olivia to Chanel, and everything in between.I was receiver of the month 5 consecutive months, meaning I received the most product in the department. I also was named an Authentication Superstar in my second month with the company, for catching and calling out product that's authenticity was questionable.

The lingerie department was extremely fast-paced with a wealth of product knowledge needed to succeed. In my first months, I became a certified bra-fitter and one of the top 5 sellers in my department. Within 5 months, my manager recognized my ambition and leadership skills and appointed me a Floor Lead. This means I was in charge of an entire section of the sales floor and the other team members assigned to that section. I was responsible for keeping that area stocked and clean, as well as helping my manager make decisions on where to place product and how to display it. I was able to lead our department to an increase in sales of the product I was assigned in August 2015, and we had the number one sales of that product in the entire region for the month.Our department required us to build an intimate relationship with the women we serviced, unlike any other department in the store. What I did could completely change a woman's life; stop her back from hurting, help her clothes fit better, and most importantly, make her feel great about herself. The best part of my job was when a customer thanked me and told me she felt so much better when all I did was properly fit her. I loved empowering the women around me even if it was as simple as the correct bra size.

At the Steeler Store, I was entrusted to operate the cash register, often by myself. I had to count up the drawer of cash at the end of every shift (upwards of $300.00) and be sure that I had the proper amount of money. As well as monetary duties, the inventory on the floor had to be constantly updated as customers purchased items. More expensive pieces, such as jerseys and watches, had to be kept under lock and key. During more high traffic times of the year, such as Christmas and game days, I often would be assigned to greeting and helping customers. Making sure to meet their needs and answer their questions, customers were always the first priority.
