I was required to inspect the condition of the item (whether it was a garment, handbag, or accessory) and decide whether or not it was up to company standards, while keeping the consignor in mind. From there, I was responsible for directing the item to the correct channels to get it onto the website to sell. High value product was sent to the authentication department and rejected items are put on their way back to their consignors. A working knowledge of current trends, designers, and fashion was required for this position. Attention to detail was also key when recognizing what to accept and what to reject. I dealt with a wide range of luxury brands, from Alice + Olivia to Chanel, and everything in between.I was receiver of the month 5 consecutive months, meaning I received the most product in the department. In my first months, I became a certified bra-fitter and one of the top 5 sellers in my department. Within 5 months, my manager recognized my ambition and leadership skills and appointed me a Floor Lead. This means I was in charge of an entire section of the sales floor and the other team members assigned to that section. I was responsible for keeping that area stocked and clean, as well as helping my manager make decisions on where to place product and how to display it. I had to count up the drawer of cash at the end of every shift (upwards of $300.00) and be sure that I had the proper amount of money. More expensive pieces, such as jerseys and watches, had to be kept under lock and key.
