About Jillian Seggie

I am passionate about LGBTQ+ youth advocacy, intersectional feminism, and creative expression. After 5 years of working as a dance instructor and choreographer, I have decided to make a major career shift to better align my career with my personal values and beliefs. As a Pre-Social Work student at Camosun College, I believe that using an empathetic approach to understanding people's individual needs leads to innovative, impactful, and more caring solutions. I aspire to help women and gender non-conforming folks navigate the world through an intersectional feminist lens. This work is important because it allows this population to feel supported, heard, and empowered by meeting them where they are at and giving them a platform to speak about their unique differences. I want to create meaningful change in our world that has operated for too long on principles that have oppressed others.
