CurrentGender inequality in the workplace isn’t limited to unequal wages; women, especially black women, LGBTQ+ women, and women of color, face barriers to advancing in their careers. As Executive Director, I work alongside Program Managers, Board of Directors, Volunteers, Funders, and Community Partners to empower underserved women and girls in need to achieve career and economic security. Wings is a multi-site organization, where we provide education, apparel, and advocacy to the unemployed and underemployed as they meet the challenges of obtaining and sustaining financial independence. Executive Council Member
This council was formed under the leadership of the Superintendent of the Philadelphia School District, Dr.Arlene Ackerman, recognizing that faith leaders were central to supporting the students and their families across the city. Our Executive Council worked with the many inter-faith leaders of the city to assist the Philadelphia schools by implementing a career exploration and mentorship program. The program has been published and recognized by the on-going support of the Philadelphia School District, City Hall and the Presidents of Temple, Drexel, Penn and LaSalle Universities. I would represent the organization by speaking at schools and to local professionals interested in mentoring. In addition to volunteering my time for speaking engagements, I would procure funding for the mentorship programs through donations and grant writing.

A first for the national organization, my role was specific to the Eastern Division (11 states), cultivating transformational giving in the lives of female philanthropists looking to make a substantial impact through their giving.
