LET'S CREATE A BETTER FUTURE: Why would someone who’s written four best-selling sales books, been an international keynote speaker and been selected multiple times as LinkedIn’s #1 B2B Sales Expert leave it all behind?Because I care passionately about my community, my country & the world we live in. At this point in my life, I can’t just hope someone else takes action. I need to get involved in multiple ways … locally by helping those who need it, nationally by addressing challenges to our democracy and globally by ensuring the world is safe for future generations. And, by doing what I do best — writing and speaking about these issues. Does it scare me? Yes … I’m in uncharted territory. I’ve never done this before. But it’s work that needs to get done. And I can’t NOT do it!That’s why I started the What’s Really Possible project. It’s a place to get ideas, insights, inspiration and resources to create positive change in a polarized world. I hope you’ll join me!HERE’S MY BACKSTORYIn addition to being named one of the most influential sales experts of the 21st century (Salesforce), I’m also a mother, wife & grandma. Over the years, I’ve spent tons of time with my family. I’ve been to countless swim meets, football/basketball games, track meets and concerts. At the local elementary, I taught Junior Achievement and advanced reading programs. In the 1990s, I realized how important creative problem-solving skills were for young people. For a decade, I volunteered extensively with Destination Imagination, an international organization.I’m a woman in a male-dominated profession. For years, I complained that I didn’t have any role models who were like me. Then one day, I realized that someone had to step forward and be one. So I did. It was scary. After that, I focused on helping women be more successful. I co-founded a non-profit called Awesome Women. Our motto was “Every woman’s voice makes a difference.” Next came Women Sales Pros, a group I formed to put on conferences for women in sales—featuring all female speakers. It morphed into a community of women sales experts committed to each other’s success. When the job market crashed in 2008, I jumped in to help those who had been laid off. I wrote Get Back to Work Faster, gave it away, and put on a series of free webinars for 18 months to help job seekers. So once again, I’m throwing myself in wholeheartedly to a new project—WhatsReallyPossible.com. I don’t know where it’s going—only that it needs to be done. I hope you’ll join me on this worthy—and definitely challenging—endeavor.
