I founded Switched-on Multimedia in 2009 when online video for training and education was relatively new. I'd worked for many years as a broadcast journalist at the BBC in radio, TV and the early days of online and video journalism. I saw there was a gap in the market for quality digital content with strong story-telling and engaging visuals that was sharp and to the point. These are the founding principles of my work as a film maker and content creator.Projects include:• Short films such as interviews, green screen presentations, pieces to camera, simulated scenarios with actors • eLearning courses both the materials within them and online learning modules in their own right• Graphics and animations• Film-making and media trainingI have a large portfolio of short films and other content made for training companies and public sector organisations. These include NHS hospital trusts and suppliers to the NHS, fire and rescue services, universities and the police along with clients who train professionals in the dentistry sector, legal profession and youth justice. During the pandemic I switched my attention to creating online learning materials and writing eLearning courses, producing two major pieces of work for the nursing profession which now sit on the national eLearning for Health platform. I still regularly produce materials for training both online and in the classroom. I have also undertaken media consultancy work for a branch of the World Health Organisation.Alongside this I am also a qualified university lecturer in journalism which I love. Seeing young people grow in ability and confidence to go on to become successful journalists, communications professionals and content creators is really rewarding. Essentially I love what I do and I love collaborating with others. I am generous with my time and expertise. I will always listen but am not afraid to pitch in to ensure the project goes in the right direction. My clients' success matters to me.
