Jill Simeone serves on the faculty of NYU Stern School of Business as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Business and Society Program. She teaches courses on Law, Business, Society and Ethical Leadership. She is also an Independent Corporate Board Director, and coaches executives on leading through transitions, especially pre- and post-IPO.Jill was a key leader in Etsy’s 2017-2019 turnaround (market cap 2017-2019: $1.46B - $16B). After demonstrating her business savvy, Jill was promoted from GC to CLO, and ran not only the legal function, but also Compliance, Risk, Government Relations, and Marketplace Policy. She has expertise in: scaling tech companies, building effective boards, tech regulation, building fair and equitable workplaces, and corporate governance. She has spent the majority of her career leading and advising companies, across a range of geographies and sectors, through both growth and turnarounds (including activism). Jill has extensive M&A experience ($5M-$15B). Jill currently serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Bakkt, Inc. She is also Co-Chair of the Board of Trustees at Brooklyn Friends School. Jill began her career as a prosecutor in the Manhattan DA’s Office, has a JD from University of California Law School (SF), and a BA from Harvard University. Jill is a Fulbright Scholar in International Business & Law (Mexico).
