Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Current• Develop trusting and therapeutic relationships with clients by completing thorough psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments to adult population in an outpatient community mental health clinic. • Provide client-centered care and treatments based on evidence-based guidelines for diagnosis and by listening to the client’s concerns and symptoms.• Improve client’s self-awareness of mental health with education and supportive therapy on diagnosis and medication. • Effectively manage client symptoms by initiating medication, monitoring response, and adjusting, as well as monitoring treatment adherence by the client.• Educate client and family on proper administration, drug interactions, and adverse reactions of medications.• Document in the EMR the client’s history, diagnosis, treatment goals, interventions, referrals and interdisciplinary plan of care. • Order and interpret laboratory tests for monitoring and diagnosing.• Collaborate with MDs, nurses, medical assistants, therapists and case managers on treatment plans.
