Previously, Head of Archives and Special Collections, American Baptist Historical Society, with experience in ArchivesSpace, reference, processing, cataloguing and exhibits. Reference archivist at the Georgia Archives in Morrow, Georgia, conducting face to face, phone and email reference, processing collections and some minor conservation work in the lab. Archivist at the DeKalb History Center. I ran the research room, maintained the collections, and helped with public events. One of the biggest projects was accessioning, cataloging and digitizing the Guy Hayes Collection, from the 1950s and 1960s. I also taught myself Collective Access and overhauled the database and catalog.Volunteered and interned at DeKalb History Center, as well as the Georgia Archives, Georgia State University and Atlanta History Center. Volunteered in the preservation lab at the Georgia Archives and completed the 2009 Georgia Archives Institute in June of that year. My first career was in television, where there was a new computer system just about every six months, so I am able to adapt easily to new technology. 22 years in television gave me extensive knowledge of video and audio, which I am using in preservation projects in my archival career.I also enjoy cooking and had my own personal chef business for a while! See sample menu below!Specialties: Organization of all kinds! Reference, accession and archiving documents and media. I have specialized training in book repair. My TV experience makes me a good choice to save old audio and visual materials. Research, customer service, video and audio, training manuals.
