    This work was such a tremendous opportunity! Starting as a caregiver in a memory care unit, I quickly advanced to a med tech. The caregiving allowed me to provide excellent care for residents impacted by various stages of Alzheimers and dementia. I was able to care for people with all of my heart who could give nothing back, other than their smile and the peace they felt. As a med tech, I was able to have a larger role by working with the resident care coordinator on scheduling, and supervising the caregivers during my shift. I had a short stint as a manager of a memory care facility. In that role, my organizational and leadership skills were activated to bring order to the small facility. I stepped away to work part-time in order to complete my schooling.
