I am a fine artist and writer. I work in my private Artist's Studio, teaching, writing and painting. My "Artist's Studio" is in Louisville, KY, located at 211 Daisy Lane, Louisville, KY 40243, in Middletown.I use the Old Master's technique, in oils, landscapes and figures. I create collage-and-oil paintings and watercolors. I am now creating figures, shown on my website. Some of my collages are posted on my website as well (at www.JillBaker.com). My work is in galleries in Los Angeles and New York, NY.I have 3 books, entitled "My Turn," "Elba Journal" and "Poems of Accord and Satisfaction." I have founded and presided over two non-profit arts organizations. I taught for the Art Department and the Department of Humanities at the University of Southern Indiana most recently and have been a visiting professor in Art History at the University of Evansville. I taught for five years at the University of Phoenix campus (on-campus and online) in Nashville. I taught drawing and painting classes at the Art Institute of Tennessee-Nashville and at Nossi College of Art in Nashville, TN. I have also taught at Pierce College in Los Angeles, California and interned, teaching Drawing, at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. I was a visiting artist for the US Information Services in South Korea, where I taught workshops, visited Korean artist "National Treasures," and held an exhibition at the end of my stay at the old American Embassy in Seoul. I lived in Florence, Italy, studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti, painted collages based on Florence, and presented an exhibition, held at the Palazzo Strozzi.Specialties: Collage-and-Oil paintings, portraits, fine art, photography, organization, leadership, people skills, teaching, writing novels, poetry, journals of travel.
