• Managed a team of engineers responsible for software updates and installer tools on Intel’s Clear Linux distribution. Drove the roadmap for the update tools and the installer, acquiring stakeholder buy-in as needed• Led the team through four different job roles in six months as organizational initiatives and corporate roadmap changes mandated changes in the team’s focus• Helped to define the planning processes used by our larger, director-level engineering organization by helping to define best practices and through leading by example in using these practices to drive my team’s work

· Worked on the Linux device driver for Intel's i915 graphics driver, with a main focus on DisplayPort technologies (DP, DP MST, eDP.) Served as the escalation point for DP issues on shipping and pre-release hardware· Led a team of two junior engineers to complete support for running DisplayPort 1.2 compliance tests against the i915 driver.· Worked with a principal engineer to design a refactoring of our DisplayPort support code in the i915 driver in order to increase robustness, maintainability, and to address several design issues that were impacting DP compliance.

Was chosen as a founding member of the Chrome OS Integration Team at Intel. Our team was responsible for adding support for new Intel processors (both desktop/mobile and embedded) to Chrome OS. As one of the early team members, I was heavily involved in hiring people to work on the team, including providing significant input on job descriptions and required skills. · Had cross-team responsibilities involving feature roadmaps, project planning in conjunction with partners at Google, as well as serving as an escalation point for IA Chrome OS technical issues that Google found· Technical pathfinding and feature / project planning, working with Intel and Google· Established Agile development methodology for the team’s work; mentored team members in Agile development; coached and helped our Product Owner in his role· Mentored two team members who eventually became ScrumMasters and two other senior engineers who became team leads when we split into two teams· Established best known methods for pulling upstream Linux kernel support for new hardware platforms into the Chrome OS kernel

Part of a team responsible for porting the Android OS (Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich) to IA tablets. Most of my work has been in user space, but I have dabbled a bit in device drivers.

Designing, building, and supporting software tools to support a team of 150 validation engineers across multiple disciplines and sites. Refactoring C code (libraries and Linux loadable kernel modules) that provide an application-level interface to a set of product line specific silicon features to improve maintainability and portability. Defining validation tools deliverables and schedule for multiple silicon product families.

Part of a small team that designed and implemented an embedded validation infrastructure for Intel IXP Network Processors. Wrote a Tcl-based utility to initialize a multi-channel RDRAM controller. Heavily refactored an existing ARM assembly language routine for initializing the same RDRAM controller to support the IXP 2800.

Responsible for designing and developing a variety of application components that highlighted the multimedia capabilities of Intel Architecture platforms. Developed a communications infrastructure that allowed bi-directional, progressive transmission of digital images over a point-to-point POTS connection. Designed and developed Win32 C++ COM components showcasing the ability of IA platforms to process information coming from a satellite broadband connection.

Designed a media librarian component for a data management engine used to help drive an efficient data protection solution (software + hardware) used to allow disaster recovery protection for branch offices over a WAN link. Contributed to the overall architecture and design of the disaster recovery system as well as the design of several of the other components in the data management engine.

Designed and implemented (in C) the device-specific portion of a media changer subsystem that was developed in-house for the support of media changers from different vendors; design scaled from 10 volume to 2000+ volume media changers.
