He has lead and provided services to companies in the areas of strategy, general corporate development, organization design and modification of decision-making processes and procedures in a host of industries including internet-related services, entertainment, publishing, pharmaceuticals, biotech, financial services and engineering in the US, the U.K., Europe, China and the Middle East. His clients have ranged from entrepreneurial start-ups seeking VC funding through state-owned enterprises transforming themselves to go public. He has a particular interest in assisting companies that stand at the threshold of leadership move beyond their start-up and early growth phase and seek help in making the difficult transition to sustained long-term growth.

While at Jaguar, Jim served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, secretary and member of the Board of Directors of Jaguar Acquisition Corporation, a public company he co-founded to effect a merger, capital stock exchange or asset acquisition of an operating business which became the first US public company to be permitted to acquire and manage cable television systems in the PRC.

Founder: Educational Internet Publishing firm that developed curriculum software for middle and high school students. Negotiated national sales relationship with Apple Computer under Tim Cook. Sold to Apex Learning, Inc.

The Hill Group during this period was a $100 million consulting, engineering and environmental services company. As CFO, Jim was responsible for refinancing the business and expansion of its banking relationships, transforming MIS capabilities and participating as a principal in negotiations of several acquisitions and divestitures.

Venture Capital & Private Equity investments

After rising to Partner in the US organization, operating out of London, Jim lead Hay strategy and organization consulting activities and directed operations in the U.K., the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Scandinavia and the Middle East. The consulting work was exclusively for Chief Executives, their management teams and Boards of Directors and was focused on fundamentally changing corporate direction and organization and strategy execution. He provided extensive consulting leadership in client work calling for change in the most fundamental building blocks of organization resulting from a need to change business strategy, including change in how people make decisions, adopt new behaviors, reward performance, agree on commitments, manage and make sense of information, alter individual accountabilities and interrelationships with others, modifying the role of the Board and key committee structures and processes.
