MBCR is a partnership of three leading transportation companies (Veolia Transportation, Bombardier Transportation, and Alternate Concepts, Inc.), formed in 2003 to deliver Boston-area rail service; key metrics include: $230MM annual budget; 1700 employees; 14 unions; 465 trains; 140,000 passengers/day.▪ Served as Elected Officer, Board member, member of Finance Committee, Benefits Committee, and Health/Welfare Advisory Committee.▪ Led all finance, IT, and purchasing activities, with 65 staff. ▪ Developed company-wide Key Performance Indicators that improved departmental forecasting.▪ Led implementation of IT infrastructure and financial systems; achieved “go live” in four months. ▪ Initiated new vehicle leasing program that netted $3MM in free cash for future growth initiatives. ▪ Partnered with HR on RFP and transition to a new health care provider; saved $1.5MM per year. ▪ Partnered with Operations on RFP and transition to a new environmental services provider; generated savings of nearly $1MM per year.

National Leisure Group (acquired by World Travel Holdings in 2006) was a leading New England-based travel agency, with 900 employees, 26 retail locations, and four reservation centers in five states, producing $380MM of annual bookings.▪ Served as Elected Officer; led finance, HR, and facilities; managed staff of 32.▪ Partnered with new CEO in 1998 to set performance metrics and reduce operational inefficiencies; resulted in margin increase from 9% to 16% and profits doubling to $3MM. ▪ Restructured compensation/benefit plans, critical to reducing call center turnover from 41% to 28%.▪ Initiated new contracts with Web partners that saved $500K on site design in first year.

Budget Rent-A-Car System, Inc. was a $1.1B global automobile/truck rental company and is now a subsidiary of Avis Budget Group, Inc.▪ Directed accounting, reporting, budgeting, and collections for a $180MM operating unit with 45 retail sites from Maine to Georgia; four direct reports/40 total staff.▪ Managed consolidation of finance activity from 45 local sites into a regional shared services center, resulting in $1.2MM in annual savings and improved customer support.

Guilford Industries, Inc. was a $130MM regional truck/rail transportation business with over 300 employees.▪ Directed 46 people in accounting, strategic and corporate planning, and development of annual budget; coordinated all local, state, union and financial audits.▪ Converted $30MM Freight division from manual to automated GL in eight weeks.

Lily Transportation Corporation was a $50M privately held truck leasing company providing over 4,000 vehicles to NE businesses. ▪ Developed operating budgets for 20 facilities; prepared financial statements, payroll, and property/sales tax returns; managed 15 staff.
