Retired from Mid American Energy as Manager of the Right of Way and Real Estate Department. After retirement I started James P. Diemer Consulting with a specialty in electric transmission line routing. Included in this package is title research, easement preparation, legal descriptions prep,and easement acquisition. I am also an expert in damage settlement following electric line construction. Clients have been: Next Era Energy (Wind Farm Development), MidAmerican Energy, Terra Gen, P&E Engineering and Indianola Municipal Utilities.

While at Mid American Energy I a co-chaired the routing committee which formed a team made up of people from electric engineering, construction, planning, legal, and substation engineering. I would then assemble a team of right of way agents, (some from within the company, and private contractors). I over saw the all acquisition, prepared progress reports while working in time frame. Also, I worked within budget constraints. I worked with the legal department to prepare for any eminent domain issues that would arise with large projects. I also prepared departmental budgets, and performed performance appraisals for my employees.
