For more than two decades, Jim Elder has worked in behavioral health where he has earned progressive responsibilities in varied clinical and administrative roles in both community-based and correctional settings. Jim is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Heath (LPCMH), a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDP), an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC) and a board Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). He has presented on numerous national platforms including the the 2011 Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association in Itasca, IL; 2012 Florida Annual Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association Annual Conference in Orlando, FL; and at the 2012 Pennsylvania’s 2nd Annual Veterans Trauma and Recovery Conference in Harrisburg, PA.As a private consultant, Jim has diverse experience in providing technical assistance and training across both mental health and substance use disorder provider systems in this county and abroad. In 2009 Jim was hired by Bermuda’s Department for National Drug Control to plan and implement treatment initiatives aimed at addressing the island nation’s challenges associated with drug abuse and crime. Additionally, Mr. Elder has worked as a consultant for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Colorado Department of Corrections and Delaware Guidance Services, Inc.Jim is also co-founder of Delaware Psychological Services along with his wife, Dr. Katherine Elder.
