Skilled in leading cross functional teams.My 15 years of automotive OEM experience cemented my use of rigorous design and development processes needed to ensure successful new product development. I took this experience into the commercial products business and led my teams through the transition process utilizing these same disciplines.The advent of home automation brought about the need to develop new engineering competencies for my team, such as embedded software based controls. I was successful moving my team through this transition, culminating in the launch of a new line of wireless controlled residential wiring devices.A renewed focus on renewable energy resources opened up a new business opportunity for solar energy related products. I was responsible for building a team and developing design processes that supported this opportunity. We successfully certified and launched a new solar harness product line and developed design tools that supported the turn-around time expectations of this market.The challenges of global competition brought about the need to develop overseas engineering teams. Faced with this challenge I built engineering expertise for connector design in both China and India. The challenges of geographically distributed engineering teams helped me to further refine my skills for project leadership and the building of strong team morale.
