I have been a counsellor in private practice since 1990, even as I worked at other private therapy settings and public institutions. My focus is in the treatment of anxiety and PTSD. Over my thirty-five years plus I have worked with children (designed the Brave Bears group therapy program for children with anxiety), adolescents, parents, and adult men and women. Over the past seven years I have gain significant experience working with active military personnel and veterans with the Canadian Armed Forces, as well as first responders, which is the main focus of my work with Cadence Health and Wellness in Newmarket, Ontario.

Within Wolfwood Canada, a company I established in 1998, I have trained professionals and others in different healing professions all across Ontario as well as Nunavut, British Columbia, and the North West Territories. In 2005 I published "Creating Courage: Search & Rescue" a manual dealing with anxiety and trauma. Primarily it is comprised of exercises that a healing professional could use with their clients, either individual or in group. The focus of my private work is in the area of anxiety and trauma. I work with individuals, including children, families, groups and communities.

Seven Bridges is a brand new treatment centre for young people 14 to 19 years of age dealing with addictions and mental health. Unfortunately the Board was not able to secure funding long enough to keep it running till it had a steady income flow and it closed the end of November 2015.

GreeneStone Muskoka is a private addiction centre a few kilometres north of Bala. Although financial issues did not allow them to renew the contract I had with them, exciting ideas and directions were being developed combining the brilliant addiction treatment work of Dr. Bill Jacyk, one of the leaders in the field with my experience in anxiety and trauma work, especial with the use of groups. I look forward to doing more in the future, exploring and treating the combined mental health/ physical health issues of trauma and addictions.

I worked at the Shoniker Clinic for the past 20 years, just recently leaving (August 2012) to put my full energy into writing, consulting and private pracitce. At the Shoniker Clinic I worked with children, adolescents, their families. The main focus of my work both individually and in group was anxiety and trauma, although I also worked with clients struggling with depression, suicidal ideation, eating disorders and sexual abuse. I also coordinated the group therapy program for all of those 20 years, and supervised one of the longest running group program for adult men who were sexually abused in their childhood.

Over a period of five years until the funding ran out for the Aboriginal Healing Foundation (Canadian Federal Government funded), I work primarily in the Arctic community of Pangnirtung delivering workshops, training professionals and lay-healers in the areas of anxiety, depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. In that time I also did training and healing work in several other northern communities including Iqaluit, Qikiqtarjuaq and Yellowknife.

The Men's Trauma Group Program held the record in Canada for the longest continually running group therapy program for men who had suffered childhood sexual abuse. It ran group programs weekly, 35 weeks a year for 18 years. Men of all types and professions struggled together to overcome the devestating effects of childhood sexual abuse. The program was cut by the hospital in 2010 due to financial cut-backs.

At the Aisling Centre I worked in behavioural classrooms as a therapist.

At Covenant House I worked as a counsellor dealing with street kids. This included intake, crisis counselling and working with the clients either to return safely home or to find employement, residence or possibly schooling. At the time of leaving I was working also as a shift supervisor.
