Transportation budget $25M.• Pool Point Network Optimization: Analyzed network to verify each store had correct level of service based on cost, volume, and pool location, enabling outbound delivery of pair of shoes for less than cost of US postage stamp.• Frequency Optimization: Saved over $1M / year on delivering select outlying and low volume stores once per week, and high volume stores 3 times per week, leveraging delivery days at each pool point.• Mode Optimization: utilized pool, parcel, courier, full truckload, rail, full containers, and less than truck load, providing needed service while optimizing cost, enabling deliveries to Shopko Hometown stores in outlying markets.• Conducted Auctions: Participated in online auctions, reducing spend in AK/HI/GM/SP over 30%. Conducted line haul auctions and brought new carriers into operation.• Lean Six Sigma: Completed Green Belt project, saving $500K of misdirected merchandise by ensuring that freight was delivered correctly through improved labeling of cases. • Design of Outbound Systems Network: Enabled Electronic Data Interface (EDI) communications between Pool Points and Payless, reducing Payless IT involvement.• Quebec Repricing: Eliminated need for relabeling of French language onto shoe boxes saving $20K by printing French onto other side of box.• Allowing early deliveries: Improved window metrics from 90% to 97.5% on-time to stores.• Restructured line haul dispatch: Improved accuracy of trailer close information.
