Puget Sound Energy - Part of a large team converting legacy WCF services to a new microservices platform on AWS using Docker, Lambda and .Net Core 2.1. Other technologies include Parameter Store, SQS, Redis caching, Cassandra persistence and SAP MCF Odata integration. Also updated several legacy WCF services that were not in line for retirement.

Live AR API project - Creating augmented reality API using TensorFlow Object Detection API, Python, c#/Web API and Stanford NLP. System identifies objects in real time using TFOD API, then augments with dynamic, customizable metadata. Object data relationships are stored in Neo4j in order to customize augmentation based on various criteria and usage contexts.

Search Team Relevance Enhancement project - Created a machine learning framework using Azure Machine Learning, Web API and AngularJS. This system used Azure ML processed sales data to reinforce image sales relevance in SOLR.Search Team Image Caption Analysis project - Prototyped a Stanford NLP based component to help provide usage-based keyword relevance using POS tagging and trainable item recognition (names, places, etc.). The system was designed to supplement image keywording based on NLP analysis of the image metadata.Search Team Standardized Framework project - Created WebAPI C# template to standardize Corbis servers/APIs. Created a one-click solution that encapsulated the Corbis technical code standards/format and provided a scaffold and starting point for adding the required business logic with little or no additional effort. The solution included a service landing page for QA and Infrastructure, integrated logging and self documentation, as well as AWS/Docker support.Search Team Cloud Search project- Search platform upgrades to WebAPI standard including Swagger and WebAPI documentation endpoints and internal service landing page written in AngularJS. Also refactored the service to support running in the AWS ecosystem.Search Team Face Detection project - Facial detection API based on OpenCV. Developed API for facial recognition including counts for the Ingest pipeline to reduce editing time.Search Team NLP project - Natural Language Processing API (based on Stanford NLP). Developed API and underlying data structures to provide generalized NLP analysis results suitable for general programmer use.

Enterprise service consolidation project - A company-wide all hands project to integrate a newly acquired IP and to streamline existing workflows. Refactored the Order Management service and workflows. Provided support for junior developers working across many other services throughout the stack.Visual Search exploration - Helped evaluate and test the Imprezzeo visual search product. Developed prototype integration into the central search service. The team eventually developed our own internal solution to handle color filtering due to performance issues.Search Team ‘More Like This’ project - Helped to design and integrate a patented technique that uses taxonomic proximity in combination with other features to find similar assets based on their keyworded metadata. Patent US 8620905 - Proximity-based method for determining concept relevance within a domain ontology.Search Team Search replacement project - Created configurable search pipeline with the ability to handle multiple sequential and parallel agent calls to gather results and metadata. The pipeline also allows fine control over the federation of the agent results. Also created integrated test client to allow sophisticated analysis and debugging of the underlying db and components. . Created SOLR config and schema for image assets. Created a vocabulary based query translation system to map foreign language search queries back to their core concepts in the Corbis taxonomy. Created a configuration loader for loading large data structures used for cached lookups to support the translation system. Created test client used by analysts, devs and SME’s used for detailed debugging and analysis of SOLR features and performance. Created guided navigation service based on the Corbis controlled vocabulary system.

Corbis Imaging Service - Created a web service to create packs of images based on ingested content. Included full metadata extraction support including legacy IPTC an XMP as well as visible and digital (Digimarc) watermark embedding and detection. Image types supported JPEG, TIFF, PNG, EPS/AI and a wide variety of camera RAW formats. Created C++ native .Net wrapper component for the Digimarc software. This service was the primary image ingest point for Corbis for almost 10 years until they closed.FAST Search replacement prototype - Developed ingest and recovery systems, monitoring and deployments for a FAST replacement of a Texis search system. Also created test clients and prototypes to help with analysis and data migration. Search localization and keyword management enhancements - Developed windows application, stored procedures and deployment procedures. Also provided backup support for Texis search servers.MediaSuite digital asset management system order processing subsystem - Developed WCF services and Windows service applications for asynchronous workflow processing. Developed asynchronous integration application for JDE OneWorld ERP orders. Developed windows applications for workflow monitoring and troubleshooting of the underlying WCF service layer.Rights management localization application - Developed web application and data components to allow users to localize right management notices. Designed database, developed stored procedures and triggers.Digital workflow integration - This SQL Server only project integrated two disparate systems and enabled them to function as one, integration their media metadata and sales information.Search keyword localization application - Developed WinForms client/server application to manage translations and synonyms for the Texis based search service. The design allows for flexible creation of contracts as well as surrounding workflow behaviors and is the rights management rules master for Corbis. This application was in service from 1999 until 2016 and was the single point of management for photographer contract business rules.
