Part Time position started to stay active and supplement retirement income after retiring from full time position at Smurfit Stone Container. Primarily responsible for financial analysis, budgeting, receivables management, payroll and other accounting and administrative duties. .

Responsible for all Finance and Accounting functions, managing a staff of 4 persons. Reported to General Manager with strong dotted line relationship to Division Controller. Duties included budgeting and forecasting, reporting to division and corporate management, oversight of accounts payable, receivables, payroll, credit management, inventory control, general ledger and more. Retired December 1998 after a total of 20+ years with company, with a break in service while employed at General Electric Co.

Managed application of payments and accounting for an accounts receivables base of over $1 billion. Staff of 3-4. Involved in maintaining relationships with several large banks which received remittances from customers and assisted in application of payments to GE customer accounts. Worked with IT staff and Canadian affiliate to develop new accounts receivable system intended for use in multiple locations. In prior GE position dealt with European partners in joint ventures for aircraft engine sales.
