Executive responsibility for maintaining 99.99% systems availability on a 24x7 schedule for over 3,000 servers supporting benefits, payroll, and time and labor management platforms for over 1,000 enterprise and mid-sized clients. Financial responsibilities included developing, justifying, and managing annual operating and capital budgets in excess of $50 million. Technical areas of responsibility included: Windows and Solaris-based web, application and database servers; data center network infrastructure; client access wide area network infrastructure including frame relay and Internet-based VPN; data center fibre channel storage infrastructure, cable plant, power systems, HVAC, and facilities; telephony infrastructure to support back-office, customer service, and IVR platforms; disaster recovery for all systems. Provided C-suite technical sales support for enterprise prospects. Administrative responsibility for approximately 150 systems and database administrators and distributed systems engineers, including six direct reports. Responsible for implementing and managing data center-wide change management processes. Executive responsibility for coordinating software development requirements and activities related to delivering software as a service.

Venture capital funded technology start-up developing natural language speech interfaces for enterprise business applications. Responsible for engineering and maintaining the environment to host JustTalk’s proprietary speech interface to major CRM platform. Technical and administrative responsibility for provisioning voice and data network interfaces for development and production instances of the JustTalk platform.

Engineering support for corporate-wide electronic messaging and networking infrastructure. Executive responsibility for maintaining 99.99% systems availability on a 24x7 schedule for editorial and content development systems and back-office voice and data infrastructure. Administrative responsibility for over 50 desktop and database administrators and distributed systems engineers in five US and UK-based offices.
