I’m an impassioned space nerd, and enjoy living predominantly on the Florida Space Coast, observing and photographing rocket launches. My excitement comes from working in the aviation, space and defense industries. Having historically:• been a certified 3rd party auditor for the AS9100 standards, • run a certification body, • been a design engineer for avionics equipment used by the Air Force and NASA,and currently:• being a member of the Space and Defense forums for the IAQG and AAQG, • participating on the SAE G-14 Americas Aerospace Quality Standards Committee (AAQSC), • being vice-chair on the AS9003 writing committee, • co-chairing the AS91XX Series – Tips and Advice LinkedIn group, • conducting training for 3rd party auditors, and • being a member of the National Space Club Florida Committee. It’s clear that I am passionate about this industry.Earlier in my career I also helped chair and write various ASTM testing standards for consumer products, and worked on the automotive ISO/TS 16949 Semiconductor Supplement. In college, I co-oped for General Motors. I was also an IATF certified lead auditor, and conducted 3rd party audits to ISO/TS 16949 for 6 years. While working in the industry, I got to participate on a Blue-Ribbon Panel with all the auto OEMs and child transportation safety experts to address the problems with infant and child safety seat integration into the wide variety of automobile seats, which led to the current method of anchors and tethers versus safety belts. As a part of this effort, I was awarded “Friend for Life” by the Colorado Advocates for Child Transportation Safety.SimpleQuE was never about Jim Lee and what I can do, but was always about a larger team of enthusiastic consultants and auditors with similar skills and expertise, so we can help our clients succeed with practical, sustainable systems.
