I have been privileged to help Australian business, government, and education leaders, with their digital transformation journeys and honoured to be a leader in delivering Modern Workplace, Modern Data Centre, and Modern Classroom solutions. It started in 1977, when I was working for Honda in the UK and our new IBM System/3 was installed. Witnessing productivity improvements that computer-generated reports had on incoming shipments of motorcycles, cars, and spare parts from Japan was astounding, not to mention the customer service improvements. Engaged and inspired. I realised the information technology revolution had started. In 1981, I returned to Australia and launched a new career as an IT Systems Consultant. By 1983, with the launch of the IBM PC, I found myself with opportunities to help organisations transform their technology. A new industry in personal computing had emerged and buyers needed information and resources to help select and deploy the best technology to meet their organisations’ needs. Global technology vendors realised the market for personal computers was enormous and impossible to charter alone. Channel sales, marketing and employing a network of value-added resellers became the route to market, leaving technology innovators to focus on research, product development and manufacturing. Today I am proud to lead a talented workforce at Stott Hoare who are dedicated and committed to providing excellent service and bespoke technology solutions to our clients. Technology provides such a competitive advantage, yet a sense of urgency is often applied to selecting and deploying hardware and software, which is why companies need genuine and experienced partners that understand their business objectives. I actively participate with our vendor partners to keep abreast of the latest #technologytrends, and I am passionate about #sustainability and holistic solutions to protect the world we live in.
