For 15 years, I was in charge of Shipping and Receiving at the Folsom, California REI. As of when I retired in July of 2020, these were my duties and responsibilities:INBOUND SHIPMENTS/RECEIVING: Truck3PL Deliveries, e.g. Anniversary Sale, Annual Snowsports Product UPS Fed Ex USPS Loading Dock VTSS Signage Supplies Fixtures Parts Park Passes Lift Tickets Employee Pro Deals Stock Transfers Repairs Correspondence Inventory CorrectionsOUTBOUND SHIPMENTS/SHIPPING: SIF and BOPUSPRRs and Q&Ss Shop Warranty Work D & D shipments to third parties California Used Bedding Standard Cardboard Boxes Bike Boxes & Mini-Gaylords Used bike tubes Used bike chains Stock Transfers Non-Conforming Returns, e.g. Garmins Fixtures Repairs Correspondence MasterCard documents Unsold Lift Tickets Annual Snowsports Product Return Employee personal UPS Shipments Inventory corrections INVENTORY/FACILLITIES/OTHER: Help sort Truck to Pack Groups Prepare Boat Purchase Agreements for all watercraft Process PRRs and Q&Ss Process Mystery Bin Process Blue Slips Email Core Team Members with Truck volumes/contents Move fixtures up and down (upper warehouse) General maintenance tasks Trash/recycling out to dumpsters Cardboard out for pick up Sweep lower warehouse Sweep main stairs Sweep upper warehouse HazMat Station maintenance Non-product warehouse organization Install new equipment in S & R/SIF area Repair S & R equipment as appropriate/needed Storage of oversized items, e.g. boats, bikes, cartop boxes Outdoor signage Lift inspection and maintenance Conduct employee certification training for lift use SIF supplies S & R supplies Empty Frontline cardboard Empty Frontline ‘void fill paper’ bin Haul large items in or out for customers Move cartop boxes upstairs Help Action Sports with large items, e.g. watercraft, bikes, cartop boxes Help Camping move backstock upstairs Take restock to Footwear Help customers on sales floor Assist, as needed, outside contractors doing work on site Cut up and dispose of oversized pallets Cut up and/or dismantle and dispose of fixtures Sweep and keep clean area outside back door and loading dock Prior to this job, I was self-employed as an attorney. Most of my practice dealt with real estate and business transactions and corporate housekeeping. I practiced law for nearly 25 years.
