My present role involves dealing with commercial customers who are experiencing financial difficulties. To be honest whilst the role is undoubtedly challenging it is one I enjoy due to the fact that every customer has different needs/demands. It can be rewarding to see their financial situation improving leading to a reduction in pressure for the business owners.

After over 40 years with RBS I am taking the opportunity to leave (around April 2015) and search for a further career opportunity. During my service with the Bank I have always been in customer facing roles principally invloving Business & Commercial customers.For the last 6+ years I have dealt with commercial customers who are having financially difficulties and I have found this both the most rewarding but challenging role of my career. To be able to handle customers in a professional manner who are facing funding pressures takes a certain skill set. There is no 'one size fits all' strategy that can be put in place for such customers with each case being managed as appropriate to meet the needs of the customer as well as protecting the Bank's exposure.During my career I have managed people- both in a branch enviroment and on a multi unit basis.I will be seeking a new role either with a financial institution or perhaps in the relationship/finance area of another company. I will be happy to travel for the right career opportunity.
