About Jim Mckeever

In 2018 I left the comfortable confines of a steady, rewarding career to devote my energies to advocating for those in harm’s way. Since 2019, I have made 10 trips to the U.S.-Mexico border to volunteer with organizations helping migrants and asylum seekers pursuing their legal right to seek refuge in the United States.I will continue to advocate for the oppressed in ways that make the best use of my skills as a journalist, advocate and compassionate human being. As my hero Bryan Stevenson says, we need to become “proximate” to those who suffer to bring about positive change in the world.
