Refurnish is helping to protect the environment by cutting down the amount of waste going to landfill. Besides collecting furniture and electrical appliances donated by members of the public, we also have contracts with statutory and private partners to remove household and business waste. We creatively refurbish, reuse and recycle as much of this as we can. Refurnish also sells a selection of new furniture and electrical good, all at very reasonable prices.People are at the heart of our business. Many of those employed at Refurnish are from disadvantaged backgrounds or have special needs and were facing long-term unemployment. We also provide volunteering, training and work placement opportunities. At Refurnish, we enable people to fulfil their potential by providing a supportive and friendly working environment where confidence, skills and experience can be developed.

The Community Resource Network (CRN) UK (reg. charity 1102277) is the national umbrella body for community & non-profit organisations involved in recycling, re-use and waste minimisation projects. We provide national representation, training, operational and business development support to these organisations in their activities.The CRN was formed 20 years ago as a membership organisation, to support pioneering community-owned recycling, re-use and waste minimisation schemes. We continue to support a wide range of innovative community resource organisations (CRO) from across the UK and we include in our membership local authorities and public sector bodies looking to work with CRO's.Our members' activities are incredibly varied and include: furniture, computer and paint re-use schemes; commercial & kerbside recycling organisations collecting glass, cans, paper, plastics, etc; on-line waste exchanges; community composting organisations collecting food & garden waste; scrapstores which make re-useable materials available for playschemes; projects taking wood & other construction waste. The CRN supports these organisations to achieve a reduction in waste & CO2 emissions whilst engaging with their communities, and tackling a wide range of social issues.

ZERO WASTE ALLIANCE UK is a not for profit organisation dedicated to raising awareness for recycling materials and promoting a more sustainable approach to resource management and waste recovery.

UK Brief. Seconded to Coalfields Regeneration Trust to Develop Social Enterprises across Coalfields Communities. Seconded to Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council to produce Zero Waste Policy and develop Resource Recovery Park.
