Responsible for Leadership of the Medical Science Liaison Team (MSL), with direct line management responsibility for the MSL Team Leads of 3 therapeutic areas - Cardiovascular, Respiratory and Diabetes. Set the overall department strategy for Medical Liaison field based teams, represent the MSL function and contribute to the overall business strategy as a member of the Medical Affairs Leadership Team & Medical Leadership Team.Responsibilities include: * External Expert Identification & Management * Scope & Sizing of MSL Teams in pre & post launch environment. * Creation & Maintenance of Role Profiles * Recruitment & Selection * Coaching & Development * Identification & Sharing of 'best practice' across teams * Developing & Implementing cross Alliance (Lilly Diabetes) Medical Affairs / MSL Activities. * Establishing strong links with Commercial Teams * Responsibility for ensuring Compliance of all MSL Activities. * Establishing meaningful metrics including capturing External Expert feedback on performance * Performance Assessment - Activity Analysis, Account Planning Quality & Field Skills etc * International & National Congress Management * Creating effective feedback processes from Field Based Medical Teams into the wider business * Presenting to both internal & external groups. * Establishing & Monitoring Budgets for people, operational expenses & congress/ meeting activities.
