After retiring in 2018 as Vice Chair and Global CEO of Deloitte Consulting, I serve on corporate boards of both public and private companies, work with several private equity and venture capital firms, and advise a number of their portfolio companies. These companies include numerous technology and services businesses, ranging from their initial stages of innovation to later stages of preparing for IPOs. I am also very actively engaged at UCLA Anderson School of Management, UCLA, and UC San Diego. During my tenure as Global and US CEO, Deloitte Consulting was the fastest-growing and most profitable business unit within Deloitte, growing the business to close to $15 billion. We invested significantly in innovation, tech-enabled assets, and global expansion, positioning the organization for long-term sustainable growth.Over the course of my career, I have advised numerous Fortune 500 organizations and worked closely with C-suite executives to deliver leading insights and innovative solutions, helping them tackle their toughest issues. I’m particularly proud of being instrumental in shaping Deloitte’s pro bono program in 2008, which has since been recognized by the White House for creating a significant societal impact.I have been invited to author multiple articles on leadership, innovation, talent management, and mentoring in top-tier media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The Huffington Post.Speaking venues have included the Consulting Magazine Summit, the World Economic Forum, the Detroit Economic Club, the Milken Institute Global Conference, MIT Media Lab, Oracle Open World, and numerous business schools, including UCLA Anderson, Harvard, Wharton, and the University of Virginia Darden. As an avid UCLA Bruins fan, it was an honor to be awarded the 2016 John E. Anderson Distinguished Alumni Award and one of my career highlights to also be recognized by UCLA Anderson as one of its “100 Inspirational Alumni.” I was also recently honored to be awarded the 2020 UC San Diego Alumni Changemaker Award. I live in Los Angeles with my wife and our dog Lani, and we have three adult children.
